“My goal and mission are to provide high-quality health-related services to meet personal needs and improve the everyday living status of the people in the communities we serve.”

Patrick got his first glimpse into the O and P field in the 1980’s when his uncle had his own O and P practice. After graduating high school and serving in the US Army Patrick returned to Florida still having that childhood interest in the field. In 1991 he began working at his uncle’s practice as a technician. After seeing the positive impact the field made in people’s everyday lives he decided to make it a career.

As an alum of Louisiana State University, Florida Southern College, and Northwestern University he received his certification as an Orthotist in 1996. Patrick continued working for one of the largest companies in the O and P field until 2001 when he opened his own practice. He founded Orthocare out of his desire to provide quality services in his hometown of Leesburg. Since that time Orthocare has grown to serve the central Florida area.

“Helping patients regain their independence and do the things they love inspires me every day.”*

Directly benefiting peoples’ lives has long been the driving force behind Sean’s education and career path decisions.  Now he feels fortunate to be a prosthetist that has the ability to help others in positive, and often life-changing ways.

Sean studied humanities in college, intending to become a professor and make a difference for young people.

Meanwhile, his uncle, a specialist in pediatric orthotics in Winter Park, FL, asked Sean to help in his lab. This work sparked Sean’s inspiration to use his mind and hands to better the lives of others.  He quickly changed his major and signed up for all the science prerequisites to start on the path to becoming a prosthetist.

Sean graduated from the J.E. Hanger College of Orthotics & Prosthetics in St. Petersburg, FL. One of his professors, Bill Copeland—an amputee himself—became an important mentor to Sean.  Professor Copeland instilled a distinct work ethic that continues to drive Sean every day: dig deep, find the best solutions, and put a lot of heart into your work.

His work as a prosthetist has taken him from positions in southeast and southwest Florida. Originally from Orlando, Sean made his way back home to work with OrthoCare and is here to stay.

“I am passionate about patient care and making sure they have the best outcome.”

Keeping up with technology is an important part of Sean’s desire to consider all options for each patient. He has a strong grasp of the use of micro-processors in prosthetics.  He is RHEO Leg certified, C-Leg certified, and has advanced Amputee Gait Training thru Ossur Academy. In addition to his own expertise, he is always willing to reach out to colleagues and find unique solutions.
